Only larger companies and organisations can afford to employ their own staff development and training professionals to provide managers and employees professional advice on what is available and, of that, what is actually right for both company and staff. It is worth being aware that in April 2010 legislation came into effect which for businesses of more than 250 employees then those employees have the right to request time for training. Needless to say this right comes with a nice chunk of 'rules' for everyone.
The Government has announced that the extension of this legislation to cover all employees is, for now, delayed while more consultation is conducted. Who do you turn to to monitor such legislation.
